School holidays

Fantastic conditions on Mount Baw Baw over the weekend are continuing today. The snow guns worked overnight and have freshened up the base.

28cm of man made snow, 10cm of natural. 4 lifts running today with Summit, Hut, Tank and Carpet all operating.

Frosti and Frantic Frog toboggan runs open.

Great sightseeing and snowplay.

Kids Club between 2pm and 4pm (free but must be booked through guest services)

St Gwinear holding up ok with 5cm at the car park and fair tobogganing. Snow shoes up the trails or your oldest x country skis

More terrain open

Baw Baw has opened Summit today bringing total lifts to 4. You have Summit, Tank Hill, Hut Run and Magic Carpet. Excellent use of the snow guns overnight to give excellent, consistent coverage across the mountain. Good x country skiing on Summit and Village trail West with the rest suited to snow shoes.

Frosti Hollow and Frantic frog toboggan parks are open for toboggans plus free Kids club between 2pm and 4pm.

Beautiful blue skies forecast with a frosty start so expect to fit all vehicles with chains.

St Gwinear has about 5cm at the carpark. Toboggan runs are open with good consistent cover. Excellent (but thin) cover up the main trail.

Lifts are turning

Great news today at Mt Baw Baw with 3 lifts turning. Hut Run, Tank Hill and Magic Carpet for the beginners. Lessons are on. Frosti Hollow is open for toboggans, Free pool between 6pm and 8pm at the Alpine Hotel, Kids Club (book through guest services) Howling Huskys $55 lift tickets and more.

2cm of fresh snow overnight with 10cm of natural across the resort and 25cm of man made. Snow shoes and cross country skiing.

St Gwinear has a bout 4-5cm at the car park so enough for the little ones. Parks staff will be around but have not opened the toboggan runs due to lack of cover so big kids go to Baw Baw, sight seers and the little ones will be happy with St Gwinear

SNOOOOOOWWWWW

Great news today with Baw Baw reporting 10cm of fresh snow. This should allow some lifts to turn this weekend. Excellent snow play and tobogganing today. Magic Carpet operating for lessons and maybe Hut Run later in the day.

St Gwinear has 4cm at the car park. Insufficient for tobogganing but excellent snow play and sight seeing. Snow shoes for the trails.

Still hopeful

June has been a write off Australia wide with very little natural snow falling, however the snow gun envy is killing me with antiquated technology up on Baw Baw hampering efforts to make snow repeatedly. We are hanging in there though with the crew shovelling and harvesting snow as hard as they can.

Snow is on the horizon with the modelling showing reasonable snow for BB early next week down to 1200m likely. Hopefully 10cm+. With cold temps predicted too hopefully the old snow guns will crank up again and add to the total in time for school holidays.

As it stands........patchy snow for sightseeing and snowplay. Limited tobogganing on Frosti. Lessons on Magic Carpet.

St Gwinear......No snow

Snow in the forecast

Most forecasts are predicting a couple of little dumps over the next 7 days. Hopefully just in time for school holidays. A dry start to winter has meant lower than average snow fall Australia wide for all resorts. The next few night will hopefully bring around 10cm at Baw Baw and cool temps should also help snow making efforts.

As it stands today Baw Baw has beginner lessons on Magic Carpet and tobogganing on Frosti. 7cm of man made snow and 1-2cm across the resort for sight seeing and snow play.

St Gwinear has no snow

Snow guns

Baw Baw has had a good night with the snow guns giving them a good little top up and with some more snow forecast this week we might be in a good position for some more lifts soon. Today you can expect Hut Run and Magic Carpet to operate and Frosti Hollow for the toboggans. Still enough for snow play and snow shoes around the trails.

St Gwinear has no snow.

Lifts back in action

Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort has had the snow guns pumping overnight and report 7cm of man made snow in areas open. This means Hut Run will be going to tower 2, Magic carpet will be going for beginners lessons and Frosti toboggan park for the little ones on toboggans. Dont forget Howling Huskys for puppy cuddles, Kids Club and snow play

We have snow

........Finally. We have snow again. Between 3 and 5cm at Baw Baw but more forecast for the coming days so we are crossing our fingers. Great day for snowplay and tobogganing. Snow shoes around the trails. No lifts yet but hopefully soon.

No word on St Gwinear but a strong possibility.

Expect to fit chains from Bay 2 at BB

Snow forecast

Hopefully a little snow over the weekend. Low temps should help snow making as well. Fingers crossed. Heaps still happening at BB this weekend.

St G.....No snow
